Pelvic Health Physical Therapy
The Full Story
Dr. Sarah Casali received both her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology with a minor in nutrition, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Simmons University in Boston, MA
In graduate school, she had a clinical internship in pelvic floor physical therapy, which sparked her passion for women’s health and wellness, including but not limited to: pregnancy related pain & dysfunction, blocked milked ducts, postpartum wellness, urinary incontinence, prolapse, sexual dysfunction, painful intercourse, bowel dysfunction, and impairments related to breast cancer.
Once graduated, she started out splitting her time between general orthopedics and pelvic floor physical therapy. She then moved out to San Francisco, California where she practiced at a renowned pelvic health clinic, where she gained experience treating pelvic health issues in all genders and severe pelvic pain conditions. She has presented at Partners at Perinatal Health Conference, lead & spoke at many postpartum support groups, consulted for different women’s health projects and even worked on app programs like Mom Moves by Madeline
Sarah believes in using evidence-based treatment approaches and has taken many pelvic floor courses through Herman & Wallace. She is very passionate about treating the whole person, which is what fueled her love for Pilates. She was given extensive training through Club Pilates, which she uses regularly in her PT practice by blending the world of Pilates and functional movement with her pelvic health PT treatments. She is also a certified lymphedema therapist, and uses lymphatic techniques in her treatments as well as corrective exercise, myofascial release techniques, and visceral manipulation.
